EDMAR - Endocrine Disruption in the Marine Environment - AE1127(1)

Description
Summary Objectives:-
In collaboration with other funders, determine oestrogenic and androgenic activity in key indicator species in the estuarine, coastal and offshore environment. Identify sources, isolate substances causing endocrine disruption and assess changes in fecundity at the population level.

Key Customer Purpose:-
Improve knowledge of the impact of endocrine disrupters on the marine environment from sewage effluents and industrial discharges, so that decisions can be made to ensure the sustainability of marine fisheries and the safety of seafood for human consumption.
