The effect of the timing of acaricide treatment on the persistance of virus infection in honey bee colonies with Varroa jacobsoni.
Objective
i) To determine the optimum time for acaricide application to reduce the incidence of honey bee virus infections associated with Varroa jacobsoni.
ii) To determine if the detection of virus in mites is a reliable early indicator of the establishment of virus infection in the honey bee population.
