Ecosystem Management Bioindicators - ME3110

Description
Summary Objectives
ME3110 will analyse biomarkers developed under ME3103 to assess whether biomarkers can be used to validate the Water Framework Directive risk classifications, set by the Environment-Agency, for hazardous substances (e.g. point source discharges of metals and diffuse inputs of pesticides). The effect of seasonality and reproductive status on biomarker responses and thus the effect on the risk assessment classifications will also be assessed.

Key Customer Purpose
To further our understanding of biomarkers and how they can be used as indicators and management tools for adverse human impacts.
